Thank you for todays roundup. Several reports of heat deaths of workers in the news feed; postal worker in Dallas Fort Worth. Also, air travel out of Dallas airport reported delays and cancellations due to extreme weather conditions.
How much longer can this be masked over from the public is anyone’s guess. Suppose as long as the A/C provides so relief, that is.
If not for C&E it is difficult to connect the dots on ones own, regardless of all the peer reviewed studies.
Thanks, VPK. I had not heard of those heat deaths. Yes for sure until the AC gives out for those of us lucky enough to work indoors. Sure feels like we are on the edge of big shifts!
A layman’s round-up of tipping points, I found it concise (and disturbing in its length). Reaches a different audience than usual. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvrFHwSa_qQ
Interesting! I had not seen that channel before. Thank you!
First them. Then us.
First the dolphin in its mother’s womb. Then humans in their glass towers.
We have proclaimed ourselves stewards of something we barely understand — as if the sea were a spreadsheet, the earth a pantry, and other species footnotes in our story. But meanwhile, whales still sing songs we cannot translate, and dolphins carry toxins we ourselves have excreted.
“Elevated above creation” — it’s a phrase that sounds like theology but ends up as an ecological declaration of guilt. The irony is that we only know that whales sing thanks to undersea microphones, military sonar, and scientific filters — but we can no longer hear them ourselves. Only the echo in a TED talk, or a GIF with subtitles.
And while we discuss technological solutions, on the other side of the placenta, the contract with life is already being broken.
Perhaps we should sit a little less “exalted” and listen a little more often — not to ourselves, but to the hissing of a warmer sea, the silence of a frightened calf, the cracking of an ice sheet.
No prestige.
No data dashboard.
“…the contract with life is already being broken.”
Indeed! We are part of the madness. It’s a wonder any of us here are still functioning! 😱
Sorry dolphins, that this scum species is destroying your Garden of Eden. At least, my beautiful creatures, this slime is not immune to the laws of nature. How do I say, in dolphinese; “Hope they get everything they deserve.”? Bet it will be worse than they can imagine.
Risking it’s total destruction before it gives up it’s ego. All right NTHE, it’s time to pick up the pace. Sorry! Slow down, it will make the suffering last longer.
I’ll be nice when the 8 billion admit they are fools.
Too much? Too soon? Never too unfiltered. 😉
