Hello Pan, looking at the temperatures around the Mediterranean, we are in for an exciting summer especially on the coasts of France and Spain. That’s where the money has to be made, but somewhere you get the idea that ‘the shore is going to turn the ship’ Too hot, too dry too expensive. Next week they are giving 15 degrees here, an absurdly high temperature for yet one of the coldest areas of France
In France, meanwhile, things are now clearly deteriorating anyway. In my department a lot of shops are empty, it’s not getting any cosier…. The number of business failures has never been so high since the 92/93 crisis… and there is talk of a ‘permanent’ crisis. That seems like a good definition.

Honestly, I’m pretty amazed that European economies in particular have muddled through as well as they have, at least on paper. Even Germany, as dependent as it was on Russian gas, only contracted 0.3% last year.
Of course, a cynic might wonder if governments are bending over backwards to make the figures as flattering as possible. Who could forget the EU’s decision to include estimates for drug-dealing, prostitution and other illegal activities in their GDP to make sovereign debt/GDP ratios look better?

I would say that the elite also have a form of denial going on thinking that green energy, green technology and AI will save us from extinction. I guess I would be considered part of death cult then by pointing out facts and geological history.

I have regular conversations with highly educated executives from the ‘progressive middle’ both in France and the Netherlands. They are not only highly educated but often have serious knowledge of physics, energy density etc….
It is as if they experience all this frivolous green energy nonsense as a ‘Catholic indulgence’ as a kind of confession with which they actually know it is all nonsense, but somewhere they are mainly securing their social position with as ‘credentials’…. you have to do ‘something’ after all…. and relieved they leave the confessional of the priests of the WEF…. push aside the curtains… mumble some more in passing to Gretha Thunberg, who once again lashes out with the confessional whip ens tap into their Tesla with relief…. really funny those conversations.

Jerry, Ja its terrifying. You may as well read the what will eventually be comming your way. You can run but you can not hide. The collapse of industrial civilization due to environmental collapse is not something that you can surrender to be throwing up a white flag and spare me and my family we surrender.
But I would not advise committing suicide yet. Before you die you may be able to relieve the suffering of someone dying from the comming events who does not deserve to suffer. Or maybe you can add to the suffering of someone who does deserve to suffer before they die from the comming events.
But eventually suicide is going to have to become an option.
My rule is that I should not try to talk someone out of commiting suicide or try to talk them in to it. But there are a couple of exceptions in both directions. I will admitt thought that if I were to try to convince someone to act one way or another it is not for that person’s benifit. After all if I convince someone not to committ suicide that person might get killed the next day in a car accident in which they are trapped alive inside a burning (electric?) vehicle. No the benifit would be for the The Cause, my cause, creating a headqche for imperialists. People are potential assets in the grand chessboard struggle. That struggle continues until it can not go on any longer. Or until the struggle Goes (the Chinese?) away. Pardon my pun.
Curt, thanks for bringing up the topic of suicide. My current position for myself is once the grid is down permanently as best as I can determine, then I will take my exit. No mad max fighting for me if I can help it!
