“The history books were rewritten again on Sunday as the countries continued to sizzle under unprecedented heat.

Just one day after setting a new national heat record, Vietnam managed to get even hotter on Sunday. The high temperature in Tuong Duong soared to a record-breaking 111.6 F (44.2 C) on Sunday.

In Laos, Luang Prabang hit 110.3 F (43.5 C), tying the national record it had set the day before.

DR Congo floods: More than 400 killed in ‘worst flood we have ever had’…

12 tornadoes hit the US Heartland overnight, fuelled by record-breaking temperatures.

Alberta asks for help from military to battle wildfires.

“As of Monday afternoon, 94 wildfires were burning across Alberta, including 27 considered out of control. More than 29,000 people have been asked to evacuate their homes. The province declared a state of emergency over the weekend due to the wildfires.”

Wildfires have engulfed large areas in Russia’s Ural mountains and in Siberia this week, with authorities promising to swiftly contain them.
