Laos [today] had by far its hottest day in history with 43.5C [110.3F] at Luang Prabang, [beating the record of 42.7C it set just last month]. The capital Vientiane 42.5C also pulverizes its all time record.

More than 13,000 people in Western Canada evacuated as wildfires rage across region amid hot weather and high winds.

Pakistan, still recovering from last year’s floods, braces for more flooding this year.
