It must be enormously stressful for you parsing through all this increasingly bad news. My heart just breaks when I see the ongoing devastation around the world. Unfortunately, I doubt you are going to have less of the same to deal with in the months ahead.

As far as parsing the news goes, it actually does not entail a huge amount of emotional engagement, at least at the time. I’m too caught up in the doing. It’s usually only later when a random article sinks in and upsets me.
